The Association of Professors of Human and Medical Genetics (APHMG) is pleased to announce a First-Time Attendee Award to support participation in the upcoming APHMG Annual Meeting.
APHMG is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community of genetics and genomics educators. We recognize that funding constraints can limit attendance, particularly for individuals new to our organization. This award is designed to encourage new engagement and support emerging leaders in human and medical genetics education.
Award Includes:
- Complimentary meeting registration
- Three nights of hotel accommodation (Value approximately $900–$1,000)
Eligibility:
- First-time attendee of the APHMG Annual Meeting (preference will be given to junior faculty)
- Committed to attending the full meeting
Application Requirements:
Please submit a brief statement (maximum 250 words) describing:
- Why you wish to attend the APHMG Annual Meeting
- How attending will benefit your professional development and your commitment to genetics education
- Please include your current role, institutional affiliation and contact information
Selection Process:
Applications will be reviewed and voted on by the APHMG Membership Committee based on:
- Demonstrated interest in genetics/genomics education
- Potential for engagement with and contribution to the APHMG community
- Institutional and professional diversity
In the event of multiple highly qualified applicants, a lottery system may be used.
