2. University of New Mexico - a Hispanic Serving Institution that also has a medical school. Right now planning is with undergraduate educators, but we are working on options through the medical school as well.

TUESDAY WELCOME RECEPTION:

CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION

Founded in 1610 and known as The City Different, Santa Fe is the oldest state capital in the U.S.

The City's signature adobe architecture, tree-shaded Plaza, and winding streets make the city feel more like a foreign destination than one of America's most historic places.  Its friendly people, laid-back pace, temperate climate, and welcoming hospitality make this distinctive city one of the top destinations in the country.

Join your APHMG colleagues for sunset cocktails with a spectacular view as we welcome you to Santa Fe!

WEDNESDAY POSTER SESSION RECEPTION:
COLLABORATE & CONNECT

Join us for this energizing evening session where you can meet fellow educators and spark meaningful conversations. Enjoy appetizers and drinks as you browse the posters and build connections that inspire future collaborations.

THURSDAY GROUP EXCURSION:

BANDELIER NATIONAL MONUMENT HIKE

Bandelier National Monument protects, preserves, and interprets an outstanding portion of the Pajarito Plateau, including one of the largest concentrations of Ancestral Pueblo archaeological sites in the American Southwest. For thousands of years, people have traveled across this landscape of sloping mesas, expansive vistas, and rugged canyons. Today, you can follow in their footsteps on the Pueblo Loop / Alcove House trails.

Formerly known as Ceremonial Cave, the Alcove House is located 140 feet above the floor of Frijoles Canyon. Once home to approximately 25 Ancestral Pueblo people, the elevated site is now reached by 4 wooden ladders and a number of stone stairs (optional). In Alcove House, there is a reconstructed kiva and the viga holes and niches of former homes.

The Alcove House Hike is rated Moderate due to its unique access via four steep wooden ladders and stone stairs (140 ft climb).  However, for those with a fear of heights or mobility issues, the main trail is easy; it's about 2.5 miles round trip with slight elevation gain (around 200 ft), highly popular (4.8 stars on AllTrails), and easily enjoyed while you watch others climb!

FREE for Attendees & Social Guests!  Advance RSVP required - Limited space.  Approx. 4 hours RT; Box lunch included.  Please bring a hat, wear sunscreen, and carry plenty of water with you. Wear shoes with good tread.  Bandelier is in a remote location, with cell service in the canyon limited to Verizon 4G onlyWhile in the park, you will be above 5,000 feet in elevation. Please expect varying weather conditions.
