The 16th Annual Workshop of The Association of Professors of Human Genetics will be held in Napa Valley, California from Wednesday, April 14 through Friday, April 16, 2010. Admittance is by registration only.

Who should attend the APHMG Workshop?

Anyone involved in medical and human genetics education and training will find value in the Workshop and Program Directors Meeting. Those who should attend are:

  • Professional of medical and human genetics

  • Department heads

  • Center directors

  • Section chiefs

  • Residency Program directors

  • Course directors

 

Attire/Dress Code

Attire for the meeting is business casual. Bring a light jacket for the evenings.
 

 

Cameras, Cell Phones and Video Recording Devices

Attendees are asked to be respectful of their colleagues by turning off or putting cell phones on vibrate before entering the meeting room. Cameras and all other recording devices are prohibited during presentations.
 


Climate in April

Average temperature is 56° degrees. Average High is 68° and average low temperature is 44°. Sunny, warm days and comfortably cool nights are the norm, with the occasional rain shower in the winter months. Dressing in layers will ensure your comfort throughout the day and into the evening.
 

 

Napa Downtown

Downtown Napa is a wine-lover's paradise! You can also have dinner at any one of nine restaurants with a bottle of wine from one of the participating tasting rooms (the corking fee is waived). Special Needs/ADA

We urge individuals requiring assistance to contact us in advance of the meeting. The Silverado Hotel is in compliance with current ADA regulations. All public areas are ADA accessible - restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, main pool and restrooms. Please contact Silverado directly if you are in need of an ADA guestroom.
 


Golf Information

The Silverado has two 18-hole golf courses on property. APHMG attendees will be given a 25% discount off the green fees and will receive complimentary golf bag storage. About the Association

The Association of Professors was incorporated in 1995 to promote human and medical genetics educational programs in North American medical and graduate schools. More than ninety institutions are now official members of the Association.

The Association holds an annual 2-3 day workshop that deals with medical genetics educational issues. The Association is involved in a variety of other academic activities throughout the year.
