General Information
The 16th Annual Workshop of The Association of
Professors of Human Genetics will be held in
Napa Valley, California from Wednesday, April 14
through Friday, April 16, 2010. Admittance is by
registration only.

Who should attend the APHMG Workshop?
Anyone involved in medical and human genetics
education and training will find value in the
Workshop and Program Directors Meeting. Those
who should attend are:
Attire/Dress Code
Attire for the meeting is business
casual. Bring a light jacket for the evenings.
Cameras, Cell Phones and Video
Recording Devices Attendees are
asked to be respectful of their colleagues by
turning off or putting cell phones on vibrate
before entering the meeting room. Cameras and
all other recording devices are prohibited
during presentations.
Climate in April
Average temperature
is 56° degrees. Average High is 68° and average
low temperature is 44°. Sunny, warm days and
comfortably cool nights are the norm, with the
occasional rain shower in the winter months.
Dressing in layers will ensure your comfort
throughout the day and into the evening.
Napa Downtown
Napa
downtown is a 10 minute taxi ride from the
Silverado Hotel and Resort. The approximate cost

Downtown Napa Wine Tasting Card: For
only $20, the wine tasting card allows you
to sample wines at 14 different tasting
rooms and wine bars within walking distance
of each other. Downtown Napa is a
wine-lover's paradise! By taking using the
card, you can taste wine from among
thousands of incredible hard-to-find wines
as well as your favorite wines from Napa
Valley and around the globe. You can also
have dinner at any one of nine restaurants
with a bottle of wine from one of the
participating tasting rooms (the corking fee

Complimentary High Speed Wireless Internet is
available throughout the property, including in
all public space, sleeping rooms and meeting
rooms.
Special Needs/ADA

individuals requiring assistance to contact us
in advance of the meeting. The Silverado Hotel
is in compliance with current ADA regulations.
All public areas are ADA accessible -
restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, main pool and
restrooms. Please contact Silverado directly if
you are in need of an ADA guestroom.
Golf Information
The Silverado has
two 18-hole golf courses on property. APHMG
attendees will be given a 25% discount off the
green fees and will receive complimentary golf
bag storage. The courses cover 360 acres and
offer numerous water features, elevation changes
and routing through oak, pine and redwood trees.

the Silverado is the largest private resort spa
